TRACE · Fleet — for Turo hosts & rental operators

Know where every car is.
Prove what every renter did.

TRACE plugs into the OBD port in 30 seconds. Live GPS and geofences, evidence-grade trip reports for damage disputes, fleet health in one view — and optional remote start-block for the car that isn't coming back. Read-only to the engine, always.

30-second OBD install geofences + live GPS evidence exports for claims start-block never touches a moving car
Why hosts buy it

Four ways renters cost you money. Four receipts.

Damage disputes

"It was like that."

No it wasn't — and now you can prove it. Hard braking, over-rev, curb-speed impacts and speeding are timestamped with GPS, exportable as a clean PDF for a Turo claim.

Theft & no-returns

The car that "went quiet."

Geofence alerts the second a car leaves your state or shows up at an auction lot. Overdue returns flag themselves. The start-block add-on ends the joyride at the next key-off.

Mileage & fuel

"I only drove 40 miles."

Odometer and fuel level at trip start and end, straight off the OBD port. The argument is over before it starts.

Fleet health

Catch it before the review does.

Battery voltage, coolant temp, and pre-code warnings across the whole fleet — fix the CR-V on Tuesday, not mid-rental on Saturday.

Live demo — click around

Your whole fleet on one screen.

This is the host dashboard with demo data. Click a car to open its trip report, then hit Export evidence to see what you'd attach to a claim.

Start-block add-on (pilot): +$59 per car for the TRACE Relay harness, +$3 / car / month. Professional install recommended (~30 min). Read on for exactly how it works — and what it will never do.
Remote start-block

Immobilization, done the responsible way.

The OBD port is read-only — by design, nothing that plugs into it should ever be able to touch a moving car. So start-block is a separate piece of hardware: the TRACE Relay, a starter-interrupt relay the size of a matchbox, wired inline with the starter signal and commanded by your TRACE unit.

01

Relay on the starter circuit

A normally-closed automotive relay sits inline with the starter solenoid signal wire — the same proven hardware subprime lenders and fleet operators have used for decades. Car drives 100% normally with the relay at rest.

02

Armed from the dashboard

You tap Block next start in the fleet dashboard. The command goes to TRACE over LTE, and TRACE arms the relay — only once the engine is off. A running car is never interrupted, full stop.

03

The car stays where it stopped

Next time someone turns the key, the starter never engages. The car sits — at the gas station, the drop-off lot, wherever it parked — with GPS telling you exactly where. Tap once to unblock when it's resolved.

The rules we build to: never interrupt a moving or running vehicle — start-block arms at key-off only. Disclose the tracker and immobilizer in your listing (Turo requires GPS disclosure; it's also just the right move). Use it for recovery — a stolen car, a no-return days overdue — not as a payment stick. And TRACE stays read-only on the OBD side: the relay is separate, dumb, fail-safe hardware that defaults to "car starts normally" if anything loses power.
